ASS WEDNESDAY ON ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday is a day when most people give something up for some odd reason until Easter when they just go back to indulging in whatever they thought was not acceptable to the Baby Jesus.  I have never understood the concept.  If you think the Baby Jesus thinks it's a bad thing, then why are you doing it in the first place?  And do you really think the Baby Jesus is pleased that you decided to give it up for a month and then go right back to whatever you were doing in the first place?  I did decide to stop talking smack about people in my little community today.  But I'm not going back to disrespecting them after Easter.  I put Lent right up there with selling Indulgences.
Some of you may have noticed that I got shut down for awhile.  I think it was due to a stupid spam issue.  I get lots of spam in the comments and usually I delete them right away, but there were a couple that I think ruined the whole apple barrel.  But thanks to my good buddy, Rugbysex and Brent and Jeff over at Google Blogger Closes Gay Blogs, I'm up and running and appreciate my blog so much more because of it.  Thanks you guys. Make sure you have these guys on your team if you're a blogger.    "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got til it's gone?"  I was so sad and disheartened when they removed my blog.  I felt violated and hurt.  I kept going back in my denial stage to see if it had really happened and then I just got good and pissed and took action.  I'm so glad I did.
One thing I hope nobody gives up for Lent is my blog, oh and a sweet ass.  Enjoy!

Hey, MM -
I'm so glad to see that you are back up and running again. I agree that it would have been a total shame if you had lost your blog. So glad that didn't happen!
And thanks for the fabulous ass shots! I'm wishing you a Happy Ash Wednesday, if that's what people do. If not, then Happy Ass Wednesday!

To prepare for his passion and crucifixion Christ went into the wilderness to pray and fast for 40 days. While he was there he was tempted by the devil. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent or the 40 days prior to Easter and it is to commemorate that time of prayer, fasting, and self-examination to prepare us for accepting God’s will.

Personally i think the back story of the ashes is interesting. On Palm Sunday, Jesus made his triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the cries of “hosannas” while palm branches were strewn in his path. Oh Palm Sunday many churches re-enact the event by processing into the church w/ palms. Once the palms have dried, they are burned, crushed and mixed with holy water and exposed to incense. On Ash Wednesday the priest or minister imposes the ashes on the worshipper’s forehead in the sign of the cross and utters: “Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return.” Not long after Palm Sunday, the “King of the Jews” was crucified.

We don’t give up something to please Jesus, we give up something to commemorate Christ’s 40 days of fasting in the wilderness. Whether you’re a practicing Christian or not, I think you will agree that the road from fame to infamy can indeed be short. As you said, it was precisely because MRS was taken away from you that you appreciated what it meant to you. Fasting and meditation/prayer is common to many of the world’s religions. Self-denial of earthly pleasures is only a tool to prepare oneself to listen and accede to the will of God.

I’m SO HAPPY you got MRS back. Congratulations MM! Bon chance!
Cheers!

Welcome back from the Nether regions! Yesterday I tried many times to reach your site, wondering what sin had caused the wrath of Google. Glad your blog survived. It happened to me once and yes the feeling of loss is intense...

It must have been your good clean living, 'cause I had nothing to do with it. I know Rugbysex sometimes thinks I can wave my big, fat wand and magical things will happen, but that only happens in the playroom, not in the land of Google! LOL

Glad you're back so quickly! Jeff
