Right about now, I'd like to be somewhere warm and tropical and rubbing sunscreen on this ass.  Maybe take a little nibble, a lick, a kiss.  But I'm up to my ass in alligators and crocodiles as we rehearse The Taming of the Shrew.  The local businesses have gotten behind us and are sending their support financially and otherwise.  We have an extremely talented and enthusiastic cast and it looks like it is going to be a great show.  Break a leg!

Are you enjoying the Olympics as much as I am?  Olympic Gold Medal winner Henrik Rummel proudly displaying his medals.  "This is a recurring problem with rowers. The spandex doesn't leave a lot to the imagination and there are many unflattering awards dock photos out there." He went on to add, "If I did have one you can bet I would've tried harder to cover it up with the flowers. Those spandex are pretty tight fitting and whatever position it happens to be captured in, it's staying that way."

I missed the anniversary of his passing.  He would have been sixty-nine this year.

In my youth he was a Dionysis of inspiration who possesed the Divine Madness of the gods. 

THE SENSUOUS WINE LOVER

Warm summer days and evenings are perfect for a chilled glass of rose.  There's an accent over that e, but I have no way of placing it because Blogger doesn't allow for symbols, so for the record, I'm referring to the wine and not the flower.  I am especially enamored of two wines from different regions in the south of France right now.  Domaine Sorin has a lovely rose (imagine the accent) from the Bandol region of Provence on the coast.  The winery and vineyards are about five miles inland from the shore with views of the Mediterranean.  The days are hot and the cool breezes from the sea at night are perfect conditions for growing the grapes.

The wine is made from 40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre and is light with intense flavors on the nose and palette of strawberries, watermelon and cranberries.

Domaine de Fontsainte (fount of the saint) is named after a spring at a monastery near the winery.  Saint Simeon.  The vineyards are in Boutenac in the Courbiers appellation in Languedoc near the Pyrenees.  The wine is made with 70% Grenache Gris and Noir, 10% Mourvedre, 10% Carignon and 10% Cinsault.  On the nose are notes of fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries.  The soils are gritty and gravelly in this region and the grapes are hand picked.  The winery is built on an ancient Roman site and coins from the 5th century were found in the soil.  Both wines go well with fish and grilled vegetables or just sitting on the porch sippin' and enjoying the sunset.  I call it 'Porchin' it.'  Both wines retail for under $20.. 

It is on my list of thing to do to visit both these wineries next fall at harvest.  Anyone want to join me?

FUNNIEST THING I'VE HEARD IN A LONG TIME

A traveling salesman is going door to door peddling his wares.  He knocks on a door and a young boy about eight years old answers the door wearing only his mother's panties and bra with a cigarette in one hand and a scotch on the rocks in the other.  The salesman is visably shaken and taken aback as he stammers and finally gets out, " Uh, hello young man, uh are your parents home?"  The young boy looks at him incredously and replies, "What the fuck do you think?"

Finally!  If you watch his talk show, he's been dropping hints for quite some time now.  Check out the gun show on his boyfriend. I wonder what Oprah would think of him texting and driving?  Towleroad has the story of how he sent the news to fellow gay journalist, Andrew Sullivan.

I want to thank all of you for kind words and wonderful comments.  It is greatly appreciated.  I just got back from an amazing week in New York City getting my mojo revved and theatre juices flowing.  We went to a taping of the Letterman Show and even made it onscreen from the third row.  Neil Patrick Harris was one of the guests and tonight's host for the Antoinette Perry Awards (the Tonys) for achievement in the theatre and my vote is cast for the incredibly moving and creative musical, Once.  Congratulations on 11 Tony nominations.  If you saw the movie and loved it you will even love the musical more.  I did.  Both leads were phenomenal and the direction was innovative and precise.  All the cast members play an instrument and the movement with the songs was creative and evocative.  If you get to Broadway don't miss it and if it tours to your city, be sure to catch a performance.  I walked out a different person.  I always love that when it happens!

Steve Kazee plays the Guy and he's got it all.  Looks and talent.  Break a leg tonight, Steve.

UPDATE:  8 Tonys including Best Musical and Best Actor in a Musical.  Congratulations, Steve and I loved your acceptance speech.

FELLATIO FRIDAY

 I'm not going to say good-bye, just fare thee well and I wish all of you happiness and may all your dreams come true.  Our fledgling theatre company just received our non-profit number and we are getting ready for our first show this September.  I leave for New York City on Sunday for a week of tourism and theatre going.  Now all I need is someone to share all this with.  Wish me luck or break a leg.  Like I said I may post from time to time, but for the most part will not be posting on a regular basis.  Email me if you'd like to keep in touch.
